Maureen Denise McCormick is the younger daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5, 1956, on the outskirts of Woodland Hills California. She was raised by an aunt who worked as an housewife, and her father who was a teacher. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. From a young age McCormick loved to sing as well as dance. She would also put on puppet shows for kids in the community. At the age 6years old, she won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether the actress was interested in a career in show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964 when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels new doll Baby Pattaburp. That same year, she starred in a second commercial on television for the doll Chatty Cathy. After that, she was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the character of Wind It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 200 auditioned kids, played the oldest of three double-headed daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick revealed that during the fifth season of the show, she was close to losing her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. The actress was sixteen years old and the actor was 19 at that moment. It could have been, she says. However, the timing for our marriage wasn't right.
