Maureen Denise McCormick is the younger daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5th 1956 at Woodland Hills California. She was raised by her mother, who was an housewife, and her father who was a teacher. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began singing and dancing from a young age, and frequently performed plays with puppets for the kids in her community. McCormick won her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest at age 6 and was then contacted via Pat Domigan, a talent agent of the Jack Wormser Agency. He requested that she be interested to join the business of show production. McCormick got her first big work in 1964, when she appeared in a TV commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in 1964, for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the main character in Wind It Up and It breaks, a production in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was in the company of over 1200 other kids who auditioned for the role of the eldest daughter to be a part of The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with the same family as a blended one. The show ran for five years. McCormick revealed her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick was close to losing her Virginity to Barry Williams during the five-year duration on the program. The actress was only 16 when she was in the scene and he was just 19. This would have occurred as she describes. The timing for our relationship was not right.
