Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5, 1956, at Woodland Hills California. She was raised by a mother who was a housewife and a father who was a teacher. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started singing and performing from a young age. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of six, which prompted an inquiry from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she would like to work in show business. McCormick was offered her first major role when she got a part in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It up and It breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won an audition in 1969 from over 1,200 youngsters to be one of the oldest twins in The Brady Bunch TV series The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed and Robert Reed. The show lasted five seasons. McCormick admitted in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity to Barry Williams during the five-year period of the show. The actress was sixteen years old, and the actor aged 19 at that moment. It would have happened she stated, but the time was never right for us.
